Chad

Education, training, investment and business development in Africa

The Republic of Chad is an important station in my international career, especially in expanding into the African market and linking education and training with business development and investment.

My direct professional activity in Chad began on 19 February 2018, working to establish educational, training and investment projects in the capital, N’Djamena, in cooperation with public figures, officials and local investors.

The experience spanned:

Higher education + vocational training + digital transformation + business development + agricultural investment + trade and export

Founding the Higher Institute of Health Sciences, Nursing and Pharmacy

One of the most significant projects in Chad was taking part in founding the Higher Institute of Health Sciences, Nursing and Pharmacy in N’Djamena.

The aim was to develop a specialised educational institution that prepares and qualifies professionals in health and related fields.

My contribution included:

  • Developing the overall concept of the institution
  • Drawing up operating plans
  • Developing the educational and training tracks
  • Helping build the institution’s management model
  • Designing approaches to student recruitment
  • Supporting the expansion and promotion of the programmes
  • Developing the digital infrastructure needed for teaching and learning

This project is one of my key experiences in combining institution-building, educational planning, operations and marketing in an African market.

Partnership with public figures and officials in Chad

The project was developed in cooperation and partnership with a select group of public figures and officials in Chad.

This cooperation helped build a local network that made it possible to understand the market, the educational environment and the country’s professional needs.

It also provided a framework for studying other educational, training and investment opportunities, and for linking Arab expertise with the needs of the Chadian market.

Marketing plans and student recruitment

A key part of my role was developing the institute’s marketing and promotion plans, to build a student base and reach the target groups.

This involved:

  • Identifying target student segments
  • Developing marketing messages
  • Preparing promotion plans
  • Defining channels for reaching students
  • Developing registration and recruitment mechanisms
  • Shaping the identity of the institution and its programmes
  • Linking marketing to the specialisations in demand
  • The aim was an institution able to reach students in an organised way and grow within the local market

Building the digital infrastructure for study

The project was not limited to a traditional educational institution; it also covered the digital infrastructure needed to support study and academic administration.

The vision included digital tools to help:

  • Manage student data
  • Organise programmes and courses
  • Follow the teaching process
  • Make communication easier between administration, teachers and students
  • Support digital learning materials
  • Develop more flexible ways of managing studies
  • This was an early part of my experience in the digital transformation of educational institutions

Developing education in health specialisations

The institute focused on fields related to the health sector, above all:

Health sciences + nursing + pharmacy

The aim was to help prepare professionals able to work in specialisations of direct importance to society and the job market.

This required developing concepts for educational and training programmes and linking them to the needs of students, institutions and the target professional sectors.

Founding an Arabic-language centre in N’Djamena

As part of the expansion in education and training, we also worked on establishing a specialised Arabic-language centre in N’Djamena.

The centre aims to offer programmes that help learners develop their Arabic, in an environment combining education, culture and training.

This project added a different dimension to the Chad experience, bringing together academic education, language learning and cultural exchange.

Specialised vocational training programmes

My work in Chad extended to cooperating on specialised vocational training programmes aimed at developing skills and preparing people for the job market.

These programmes focused on practical, applicable training that helps trainees gain skills they can use directly at work.

This experience is part of my broader track in:

Vocational training + skills development + job-market preparation + training programme development

Cooperation with traders and investors

The Chad experience was not limited to education.

It also included cooperation with a number of traders and investors to study and develop business and investment opportunities in the Chadian market.

This meant building relationships with parties interested in trade, agriculture and export, and studying how to develop projects that make use of the resources and opportunities available in the country.

Agricultural investment and land reclamation

Agriculture was one of the important sectors explored during my work in Chad.

The activity included working with investors and traders to study opportunities related to land reclamation and the development of agricultural activities.

This track is tied to understanding the agricultural market and the potential for projects that combine production, trade and export.

Trade and export of grains and agricultural products

The activity also extended to studying and cooperating on the export of grains and agricultural products from Chad.

Among the products worked on, or whose opportunities were studied:

Sesame

Other grains and agricultural products

These activities are part of a wider experience in international trade, opening markets, and connecting producers and traders with investors and foreign markets.

Linking investment with trade and international markets

What set the Chad experience apart is that it did not treat agriculture as a purely local activity, but linked it to the possibility of building trade chains that can scale and export.

This includes thinking about:

Agricultural production → aggregation → trade → export → access to foreign markets

This added a business-development and international-trade dimension to the educational and training work.

Chad as a gateway to experience in the African market

Chad is one of my early and important experiences of working directly in African markets.

It gave me the chance to work in a culturally, economically and institutionally different environment, with local bodies and figures, to develop projects suited to the market’s needs.

Its importance lies in bringing together several sectors in a single country:

Education + training + health + Arabic language + technology + agriculture + investment + trade

Building multi-sector projects

One of the most distinctive features of the Chad experience is that it did not rely on a single project.

It brought together:

  • Founding an educational institution
  • Developing health programmes
  • Marketing and student recruitment
  • Building the digital infrastructure for study
  • Founding an Arabic-language centre
  • Vocational training
  • Developing agricultural investment opportunities
  • Trade and export of agricultural products
  • This reflects an ability to develop and manage multi-sector projects in emerging international markets

Chad in my international career

Since 2018, the Chad experience has been a distinct and important station in my career, because it combines entrepreneurship, institution-building, education, training, digital transformation, investment and international trade.

Its value lies in moving from offering consulting or individual programmes to taking part in founding real entities and projects in an African market, building relationships with local bodies and investors, and developing opportunities that can link Chad with regional and international markets.
