Egypt

Education, artificial intelligence, digital transformation and virtual reality

Egypt is the starting point and main base of my career, which began in 2005 and developed over more than twenty years — from information technology, training and running educational centres, to founding and managing projects in education, consulting, business development and digital transformation, and then to leading initiatives built on artificial intelligence, virtual and extended reality, and the metaverse.

My first professional stage was in Cairo at Compusoft Training Center, where the work combined technical support, computer and network maintenance, training, operations, customer service, sales and training-centre management. I then co-founded and managed Future Tech in 2007–2008, focusing on applied training in computing, networks, information technology and professional development — the stage that set me on a path combining technology, education and entrepreneurship.

One of the most important milestones was founding Hyper Soft Training & Consulting in Assiut, where the training and consulting centre grew into a wide professional activity across several operating sites, including a presence inside Assiut University. Its programmes trained thousands of learners in computer skills, human development, life skills, human resources and employability, alongside programmes that developed the skills of thousands of university students in cooperation with Assiut University and several of its faculties. The activities also included training cooperation with Al-Azhar University in the Assiut area and other educational bodies, as well as services in consulting, website development, information systems and digital-infrastructure support for local and corporate clients.

This stage was not limited to training: it included developing training materials and books, train-the-trainer programmes, and youth and development initiatives. One of the most notable was Team Start, which grew to hundreds of young members and leaders in a model that combined skills development, community work and youth leadership. In 2010 I was also recognised as the best representative of a British training provider.

With the founding of Market Share Consulting, my experience moved more broadly into consulting, marketing, business development and the design of educational and professional services — preparing market studies and analyses, proposals and training solutions for organisations — and into early work on digital learning, teacher capacity-building and the use of technology in education.

Later, my experience expanded from Egypt to institutional and regional work with IGate International and SUPIGATE. This included developing and running digital education and training models, and preparing professional tracks, operating plans, cooperation proposals and memoranda of understanding with educational and training institutions. I also represented IGate at the Arab Council for Training and Student Creativity of the Association of Arab Universities, and contributed to Arab online programmes, workshops and training activities that benefited thousands of students from different Arab universities, on topics including digital transformation, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, student creativity and future skills.

Since 2024, my academic and institutional activity in Cairo has extended to the AI Research Center at the League of Islamic Universities, supporting research and applied initiatives on the use of AI in education, training, capacity-building and institutional development, and working with universities and academic institutions on digital transformation, higher-education development, innovation and university capacity-building.

2022 marked the start of a new stage with the founding of MetaLife Metaverse, a technology initiative focused on applications of AI, virtual and extended reality and the metaverse in education, culture, digital tourism, and virtual conferences and exhibitions. My responsibilities included leading and coordinating a multidisciplinary technical team to develop interactive learning experiences, virtual simulations and immersive digital content — turning AI, VR and XR from showcase technologies into practical tools for education, training, institutional communication, awareness and cultural innovation.

In this direction, the projects and initiatives included developing concepts for simulations of Islamic rituals and sites, virtual learning environments, virtual conferences and exhibitions, digital museums and cultural tourism, as well as Mamizo, an initiative for Arabic children’s content inside virtual-reality and metaverse environments, which took part in the Cairo International Book Fair in 2024 and 2025. I have also worked on AI/XR projects and proposals in the fields of youth, awareness, simulation, culture and digital tourism in cooperation with Egyptian institutional and government bodies.

At the university and institutional level, my experience extended to student skills-development programmes in several faculties of Assiut University, activities linked to Al-Azhar University, and cooperation within academic networks and initiatives through the League of Islamic Universities, the Association of Arab Universities, IGate and SUPIGATE, as well as initiatives that bring together education, AI, innovation and institutional development.

The Egyptian experience is thus a gradual path: from technical training and running training centres, to entrepreneurship, consulting and digital learning, and then to AI, virtual reality and the metaverse — with practical experience in building institutions and programmes, developing partnerships, managing teams, designing projects, and turning technological and educational ideas into workable models within Egypt and from there to Arab and international markets.
