Saudi Arabia

Artificial intelligence, virtual reality and project development

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of the most significant stations of technological and professional expansion in my career. My experience there began in 2023 and has ranged from technology and educational consulting, to developing projects built on AI, virtual reality and the metaverse, vocational training, business development, digital content and interactive experiences.

Part of this experience began with leading and taking part in a technical team producing, editing and directing promotional video content on the achievements, projects and infrastructure of the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, in cooperation with Khatib & Alami. The work covered aspects of artistic production, voice-over, and presenting the projects in a more interactive visual way.

The experience extended to technical and technology consulting for cultural, educational and religious projects aiming to present content more interactively, including ideas for non-Arabic speakers that use digital technologies and simulation to present content related to the Prophet’s biography and cultural experiences.

In design and interactive presentation, I led technical and creative teams working on interior design, furniture and hotel fit-out using 3D design tools, and developed presentation methods based on 3D design, 360° technology and virtual experiences for sectors such as real estate, interior design and hospitality. In this context I worked with bodies including Canvas and Al Qada, to turn traditional designs into more realistic visual and interactive experiences.

Training and digital transformation

In vocational training and qualification, the experience included working with Arak Educational Academy in Jeddah and delivering workshops and programmes through its digital platform, on digital transformation, cybersecurity awareness, and virtual-reality and metaverse technologies.

These activities extended my earlier experience in digital education and training, now within the Saudi market and on topics in step with the rapid technological change the Kingdom is undergoing.

Virtual reality, games and immersive experiences

Virtual reality and the metaverse have become one of the most important areas of work linked to the Saudi market. I provided consulting and technical support to the VR City project in games and virtual experiences, working on game ideas, feasibility studies and expansion plans.

MetaLife Metaverse also contributed to developing a number of ideas and solutions for the Saudi market, especially in tourism, entertainment, culture and the virtual presentation of projects.

This included developing concepts for simulating new projects and tourist destinations, and creating virtual tours and digital experiences that let visitors explore sites and projects interactively — in line with the growing trend of using immersive technologies in tourism, entertainment and project marketing in the Kingdom.

VR Camel — simulating the world of camels and camel racing

One of the most notable technology projects linked to Saudi Arabia is VR Camel, a concept that uses virtual reality to offer a digital experience simulating the world of camels and the heritage associated with them.

The project’s ideas and technical components included developing:

  • Virtual games simulating camel races
  • A virtual camel museum concept
  • Digital experiences showcasing camel-related culture and heritage
  • A simulation of some of the atmosphere and events of the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival
  • Virtual tours and experiences based on 360° technology

The project reflects one model of using virtual reality to bring together technology, heritage, culture, entertainment and tourism in the Saudi market.

VR Makkah — virtual simulation of Islamic sites

In education and religious culture, the VR Makkah concept was developed to use virtual reality to simulate holy Islamic sites and present them in interactive digital environments.

I developed concepts for simulating the Grand Mosque, as well as concepts for simulating the Prophet’s Mosque and Al-Aqsa Mosque, to use immersive technologies in education, awareness and culture and to offer users an interactive learning experience.

This direction extends a wider vision of using virtual reality not only for entertainment, but also for cultural and religious education, awareness, and preserving and presenting content in a modern digital form.

Judicia AI — artificial intelligence in the legal sector

Judicia AI is one of the most notable recent projects linked to my career in the Kingdom: a Saudi project focused on using AI in legal services and processes.

I have been involved since the early stages in planning the project and setting its strategic vision, developing the business model, organising the project scope, and contributing to operations, administration, marketing and quality, as well as supervising and coordinating with the technical team.

The project aims to develop a digital legal system that brings together legal research and assistance, document analysis and legal work management, as part of a wider trend of applying AI in the Saudi legal sector.

An experience that links technology with the market

The Saudi experience reflects a path that combines consulting, training, AI, virtual reality, product and project development, tourism, culture, heritage and legal technology.

From digital content, training and digital transformation, through VR City, VR Camel and VR Makkah, to Judicia AI, the Kingdom is one of the markets where my experience has grown from providing technology services and consulting to taking part in building and developing digital concepts and products for multiple sectors.
