Markaz Knowledge City and international academic partnerships

India is one of the most important stations of my international experience in institutional development, academic cooperation and international partnerships.

Since 2022 I have worked in an advisory capacity with Markaz Knowledge City in Kozhikode, Kerala, focusing on developing institutional and international relations and building bridges of cooperation between the knowledge city and institutions and universities in Egypt and the Arab region.

Institutional development with Markaz Knowledge City

The role is mainly about contributing to institutional development and international expansion, working on initiatives and proposals that aim to widen the institution’s academic and professional network.

The work has included:

  • Preparing cooperation proposals
  • Developing partnership offers
  • Preparing and drafting memoranda of understanding
  • Connecting the institution with universities and educational bodies outside India
  • Supporting cooperation opportunities with Egypt and the Arab region
  • Developing ideas and projects with an international dimension
  • Supporting academic and institutional expansion
  • These tasks reflect a role that goes beyond liaison to building and developing cross-border institutional relationships

Academic partnerships between India and Egypt

Academic cooperation between India and Egypt is a key focus of this experience.

The work has included supporting cooperation channels between Indian institutions and institutions and universities in Egypt, by preparing concepts and proposals, organising communication, and supporting academic visits and delegations.

This is a model of cooperation in:

  • Higher education
  • International student mobility
  • Institutional and academic partnerships
  • Exchange of delegations and visits

Supporting international delegations and visits

The role also included helping coordinate academic and institutional visits and delegations between India, Egypt and Arab markets.

Delegations are an important part of building international relations, because they help turn initial contacts into real cooperation through direct meetings, exploring partnership opportunities and discussing joint programmes.

Hundreds of Indian students in Cairo

One of the most notable results of the Indian experience was helping coordinate and support the enrolment of hundreds of Indian students in Cairo.

International student mobility

A core part of the experience is developing and supporting student-mobility pathways between India and Egypt.

This included helping connect students with educational institutions, facilitating institutional communication, and supporting the steps involved in enrolment and academic coordination.

This experience adds an important dimension to my career in international student mobility, especially in educational relations between Asia and the Arab region.

Cross-border academic cooperation

The Indian experience is a clear example of cross-border academic cooperation, where relationships are not limited to one institution or one programme but extend to building a potential network of cooperation between different institutions and countries.

This includes:

  • Building relationships between universities and institutions
  • Developing joint proposals
  • Supporting memoranda of understanding
  • Organising delegations
  • Developing international programmes
  • Supporting student mobility
  • Exploring educational and professional cooperation opportunities

Vocational education

The work also included developing concepts related to vocational education and training.

This involves exploring programmes more closely tied to professional skills and the job market, and expanding cooperation between educational institutions and training and qualification programmes.

It complements my broader experience in vocational education, international training and programme development.

Digital transformation in education

Digital transformation also featured among the areas of development and cooperation in the Indian experience.

This includes interest in how technology can be used to develop educational institutions and programmes, and to support more flexible models of learning and international cooperation.

This aspect extends my broader experience in digital learning, educational platforms and new technologies.

International academic events in India

My CV also records contributing to the coordination of an international university event in India in 2022, alongside supporting academic relations, delegations and student mobility.

These events included an international climate summit held on 17–19 October 2022, with around 200 delegates from 40 countries.
